Title: Hello from England!
Post by: PQStarLord on Fri, 10 June 2016, 07:01:35
I thought I would post here seeing as I just joined.

Someone at work bought  POK3R keyboard the other week and now here I am with a Ducky Shine 5 and waiting to get my hands on some keycaps...

I ordered an Evil Silence keycap from massdrop and I can see this becoming fairly expensive!

I'm hoping to learn a lot from you guys  :D

Lots to learn here!  Best place to start would be: Recommended Reading (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=68372.0)

What switches do you have in your Shine 5?  Any mods planned?

I have Cherry MX Blues - we got a switch tester and I just loved the light, tactile feel.  I haven't even thought about mods..

Welcome to GeekHack!

Is it a ISO/UK or a ANSI Ducky Shine 5?

I'm livin in Sweden and we have the ISO/Nordic layout and it is a hell to find ISO/Nordic keycaps sets here.

Only 1 shop are sellin some ISO/Nordic keycaps sets here in Sweden.

I'm usin a ANSI Ducky One RGB YOTG with Cherry MX Blacks and also have a ISO/UK Ducky Shine 3 with Cherry MX Blues.

I have this ANSI/ISO UK Tai-Hao keycaps set from: http://www.mechsupply.co.uk/product/tai-hao-pbt-sunshine

The only problem with this set, is that is a 104 keys set.

Mmm blues! :thumb:

A bit tricky to lube since improper lubing can immediately kill (read: silence) the click. :'(

It's a ISO/UK ducky. I was going to get a shine 4 but I had a hard time finding an ISO one with blues.

Welcome to Geekhack!

What made you choose a Ducky (full size?) over a Pok3r?

Both are great keyboards, anyway.

Pffft recommended reading - have read of this thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=67980.0), especially if you are worried about spending too much money on your new hobby.
