I don't get it.  10 seconds after I posted, the seller ended the item.

Interesting -- maybe he stumbled on some listings that went higher and decided to relist. In any case, thanks for the pointer!

Look again, it wasn't ended early, it sold.

I would consider that to be a very good price for that keyboard. Those are excellent little keyboards and they don't turn up very often any more.

Mid-high-$100 range seems entirely appropriate. I keep looking for a cheap beater to chop up for the ANSI-Alt mod because I have a pristine one that I want to keep. But for the last couple of years, they have been very scarce.

$150 for a Model F AT isn't a very good price, it's an average price.  A very good price is sub-$100 shipped.  Those do happen from time to time.

I have been half-heartedly watching and they have been quite scarce for a couple of years. When someone lists one on ebay <$100 they must go very fast.

I've seen a few.  They tend to go within the first hour or less of being posted, sometimes within 5 minutes.  I've seen as low as $50 shipped.  $150+ tend to hang out for a bit and $125 shipped seems to be the sweet spot for selling.

That being said, I discovered 2x ATs on taobao priced at 588 RMB.  Any interest?

It's gonna be about 800 RMB shipped to USA.  This seller customarily declares all keyboards to be "Straw hats", so no duty.

I would've said this particular listing seemed about average for these days ($150 shipped). But it's easy enough to find out by searching eBay for:

ibm "model f" keyboard

...clicking "Sold listings" at the left, and looking for ATs that have sold recently (the first one is the OP):

Of course you'd have to view each listing to verify what condition the boards were in. And some of the "Buy It Nows" may have been undervalued. But two of the open auctions went for surprisingly little, too (despite the missing keys on one).

That said, if my math's right, the 9 ATs sold in May and this part of June actually brought an average of $131.85 shipped.

(What would you guys do without me?  <g>)

On the contrary, dude—nice F's come up seldom enough that it's always interesting to know about 'em. And strictly in terms of statistics—though there's so much more to KBs than that, of course—I doubt I ever would've done this averaging-out, which was also kinda interesting, if you hadn't posted.

Unlike some people here, who seem to live for chances to criticize Finds they don't consider Great, I could look at vintage MK auctions all day. The only challenge has been to stay married whilst doing so.

You can be certain that somebody will pop up to take any opportunity to brag about the fantastic deal they got 3 years ago, and it is not good for morale.

Sure, people have bought industrial SSKs and Unsavers for $15 from ebay sellers who didn't know what they had, but that is not the "real" market.

But today, for the keyboard that you want, today, the fair market value is what you or anybody else is willing to pay, today.

edit - oops! Sorry, I clicked on this thread by mistake.

Guys, I am really sorry. I always say that I am not a Cherry guy, so maybe this is common. Otherwise, WTF?

When I got the keyboard the other day, I pulled one key cap to see what switches it had.

Guess which one I pulled:
