Title: Hello from California!
Post by: Epic on Tue, 14 June 2016, 16:23:51
Hey guys, long time lurker, big time keycap/keyboard enthuasiast here.

I've been wanting to make my own keycaps for a long time and finally took the plunge. I've been reading the guides by Booper and Zorb (big fan of both). I hope to share my experiences and learn from others here!

Thats awesome. Dont stop there, there are a bunch more out there to learn from as well. I definitely reccomend Binge's Capcraft hub.

My suggestion is spend a ton of time on your sculpts. Make sure they are something you really love, and work some more to perfect it.
Its tough when you have a mold of a cap and think, I should have tweaked this or that.

anyways, welcome!

Thanks Moistgun, I am a software developer by trade so sculpting isn't a strong point for me. I find the process soothing (reminds me of my childhood in grade school playing with Play-doh). I started watching youtube videos on polymer clay sculpting and am amazed by the detail and time that goes into sculpting. Makes me appreciate the work of other artisans here much more.
