Title: Switches for Planck build.
Post by: cpeterson19 on Mon, 20 June 2016, 20:55:11
Hello,
I'm doing a Planck 40% build and I need reccomendations on which switches to use. I currently have boards with cherry mx blues and zealios (aka gateron purples).

GH please help#

If you want to try Alps style Matias quiet clicks are lovely and easy to get, but you're not going to find blanks or 1u keycaps with correct legends to put on a planck so I'd stick with MX like.

Get some 120g linears and give your fingers a workout :))

ALPS are the bomb but like suicidal_orange said it's not easy to find keycaps for them.

Gateron Clears are pretty neat. Smooth and extremely light.

I put MX Blacks in my Atomic.  No regrets.

Which switches do you prefer between your Cherry MX Blues and Zealios (I'm going to guess the latter)?  Also, is there any specific switch that you've been looking to try, i.e. linear, more or less force required, etc?  This might help for people to give you recommendations. But hey, if you really enjoy one of the switches that you've tried then there's no harm in sticking with them.
