I was trying to remove a switch from this awesome Acer PS/2 ALPS board (middle photo) and I removed it alright... by splitting the outer switch housing into 2 pieces. The internet told me to.
Since this is one of the cooler ALPS boards I have, another will be sacrificing one of it's switches.

I haven't seen anything like that happen before. You'll have to find an experienced ALPS-ologist to cure that.

Since I have decided to do a Switch Swap on the Wang 724, I now have a load of spare switches. If you can't get one elsewhere, would you like one?
-
Why are you swapping switches on the Wang? Aren't they Pink ALPS?
-
So I guess it's the Montereys that have the different body.
-
Yes, but they have led a hard life of servitude, and now need to be put out to pasture. Not sure what I will replace it with, and I may only do the Alpha's and main numbers. Maybe the Numpad. Some of the lesser used keys are great, but the main area is very poorly indeed. If you want some, they are yours. PM me your address, and I'll get the soldering iron and de-soldering braid out.

InSanCen, you are the bomb! Thank you!

Just for a record, company code of Acer registered in FCC is GQ8.
Early model of Acer 6011 used different shape of outer case and came with Blue ALPS. same body as KB-101A.

You know, there's a joke in there somewhere.

I am actually disappointed that Ripster didn't get a Pink Wang joke in there.
