Title: Blank Keys for a macbook?
Post by: jrib on Fri, 01 January 2010, 18:46:23
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to remove the lettering on a black macbook 4,1.  Or, preferably, does anyone know where I can purchase blank keys for this macbook?

They probably aren't available.

As for wearing off the lettering...just keep rubbing...

I hate to see keyboards worn like that. Shows the quality of the plastic used. My Focus's keys are worn smooth but the lettering still stays there nice and bold.

I have a MacBook keyboard that's intact save for the missing L (key and scissors). PM me if you decide to roll your own and want a backup copy.

The big problem is it's hard to remove keys from scissor switches.

This might help (http://www.typematrix.com/tipsforusers/#reassemble). Maybe. I hope to rearrange keys on my laptop, so I hope so.
