Title: Hello from Germany
Post by: Mystic-X on Sun, 03 July 2016, 15:31:50
Hi!

just stumbled across this site looking for some information about an old ICL Keyboard I bought.
(will open a thread on this later)

My name is Markus, 28 years old, living in the eastern part of Germany, electronics technician and collector of old radios and hifi equipment and a bit old computer stuff.

I'm mostly typing on an ~1995 keyboard that came with an old peacock-brand computer, not even mechanical keys but I like it and I'm using it for about 15 years now. On the other hand I like the old *30 to *60-series Thinkpad Keyboards.

Forum looks interesting so I will stay here and read and write some stuff from time to time.

regards
Markus

Welcome to Geekhack!

That ICL keyboards looks big - even more keys than a Model M 122!

I have a couple of old non-mechanical keyboards that are great to type on, and sound great too!  There's nothing says you have to have a clicky modern mechanical keyboard - a lot of the older keyboards were build like tanks and just keep going!

It's only the modern really cheap rubber dome keyboards that have saturated the market that feel like dry sponges to type on.
