Title: Hello from Scotland
Post by: Asciana on Wed, 06 July 2016, 14:56:07
Its only recently that I became interested in mechanical keyboards after stumbling upon r/mk and doing an awful lot of reading and found my way over here. I have ordered my first mechanical keyboard (WASD CODE TKL with MX Browns) from Massdrop which should hopefully arrive in a week or so. The next thing I'd like to do once i've got my keyboard is to build my own.. perhaps a B.face from WKL or a Phantom.

I get a feeling like many others i'm going to end up spending a fortune as I keep seeing lots of awesome looking keycap sets (my Taihao sunset keycaps have already arrived) and i'm blown away by the upcoming shots of the new Fugu caps.

Welcome to Geekhack!

CODE is a great keyboard - I have one with MX clears.  The only thing is that the keycaps do shine fairly easily.  A lot of mine are going shiny - I just hope the black surface doesn't wear off!

If you're worried about spending too much, have a quick look at this thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=67980.0).  A cracking read, by all accounts.

If you want to build a keyboard, you could also try a GH60 or a JD40/JD45.  All were designed here :)
