How are you all doing?

I found this website while browsing reddit and recently joined the hot keys project flash sale.
I currently own a completely stock quickfire rapid-i but that will change with the hkp's, also thinking about buying pbt caps.
And I'm thinking about buying a leopold fc660c or a pok3r.
This is already getting out of hand lol.

Anyway normally I just lurk I decided to make an account for some reason : p

Welcome to Geekhack!

Did you win in the HKP sale?  I missed it due to budget restrictions.

The keycaps on the QFR-i are about as basic as you can get.  Swapping them out for a set of nice PBT keycaps will make a huge difference to the board.

Btw what switches have you got in the QFR-i?

Yes I did win :), don't really know anything about the availabilty during a sale, but I joined kinda late so I guess I got lucky.
I'm waiting for them, they left honkong on the 8th so I assume they will be here next week.
Wasn't really planning on buying anything but the raven with functioning visor was to cewl to resist.

Thinking about getting the green and grey side printed set on geekkeys. The only thing i don't like is that the whole cluster on the right is also green which I think is a bit overkill.
Do you happen to know anything about geekkeys quality?

I got the brown switches, I really like the tactile bump and that they are reasonably quiet. I still bottom out every key tho. I think that's the only switch available on the QFR-i.
I decided to get those after buying the cooler master switch tester. I helps but it doesn't give the same effect as actually typing on the keyboard.

You have alot of keyboards btw, I assume that is the cause of your budget restrictions : P
Do you use them all? Which one is your favorite?

Lucky!  Some people take many tries and months before they get lucky in a sale.

Geekkeys are generally quite thick, AFAIK.  Haven't bought any there (yet), but I haven't heard anything bad.

You're absolutely right about the switch tester - there's so much more to a switch feel than just pressing one switch in an isolated environment.

I have, er, a few :))  I try to rotate them.  The CODE stays at work, but I rotate the others around usually on a weekly basis, with the noisier ones on the weekend (when I use them mostly during the day), and the quieter ones during the week (when others are sleeping, like now).

No particular favourite, although I do find myself coming back to the SSKs and the HHKB more often than the others.
