does anyone care this year?
-
Dafuq is prime day
-
it's like a disappointing Black Friday
although last year I got 2x GTX 970s for $260 so there are certainly deals to be had
-
If it's anything like last year, the internet will just be upset.
-
Dafuq is prime day
March 14th.
Wait, ****, that's pi day.

Anything good yet?
All I see is laundry detergent.. which is on the cheapish side.

The best deals are always in the Warehouse deals.

My 55 gallon drum of lube from last year is running low, hoping for a repeat.

I can't stand Amazon. The format of the entire site drives me crazy. I only buy from there as a last resort. I also don't like how they basically force you to sign up for Prime by overcharging for shipping and delaying the shipment if you don't use Prime.
So no, I don't care for Prime Day.

I bought a power bank for pokemon go.
-
thinking about getting that 480gb ocz ssd for $88..
But there's tax for me, so deal goes to $94.. Still 5:1 though..
But I don't reeeealy need any more ssds... but u know.. sometimes it's like.. errrmmm.. I could use another scratch drive some where...

Amazon Fire tablets have dropped to $33, which is approximately the number of days they will last before they fail.

Well, let's put things in perspective.
Black Friday is disappointing. Now imagine a more disappointing Black Friday than the regular Black Friday. That's Prime Day.

Got a PS3 Eye bundle w/ a game and other crap for 9.99 and a couple other PS3 games

Amazon is like the biggest online retailer and yet they still don't ship 3/4 of their products to Australia, it's really annoying.
-
Anyone scout any good deals?
Briefly checked slickdeals for a summary of decent Amazon and nothing appealing so far.
-
Amazon.co.uk had a better deal on the basic NVIDIA SHIELD and Xbox One / PS4 bundles. I wish we had those deals.
I got one of the new white Kindles, just the basic model for $50. Had some Amazon credit from trade-ins to spend.
Oh, and btw...I own one of the basic Fire 7" tablets they are selling for $33, and they are easy to install Google Play Store onto, just google it. Then you can install anything you want. Decent little Android tablet for less than $50. It's not fast, but I can play Hay Day on it without too much lag.

Australia is doing the block.. to protect domestic import businesses, most likely..

The sad thing is, Black Friday was once pretty decent. Got a good tablet, got my wife a good laptop, picked up PC parts. All in all, I was content. Unfortunately, you now get a lot of junk made specifically for Black Friday like tvs and such. It becomes more difficult to get information on them. Even worse, companies will now produce them with unique model numbers so price matching is impossible. Now you've got a load of Thanksgiving day openings so Black Friday has really become Black Thursday at this point.
Even funnier is Cyber Monday which is mostly a Black Friday leftovers sale at this point minus a few places that do that instead of Black Friday.

got my battery power bank in less than 24 hours. Nice. 20000 mAh is pretty hefty though dang

Tp4 is p00r now, but used to be Epic-p00r..
So.. basically brakfriday was the only day of the year I could afford to buy any electronics.
And I still had to buy the budget stuff.. I remember using wrt54g, cheap seagates, cheap maxtors, cheapo blank dvds..
-
Missed out on the power bank so purchased stuff that wasn't part of Prime Day

There are so many power banks..
The trouble I've had with them, is that they use very small solder points these days..
But if you think about it.. Powerbanks generate a crap ton of heat.. so those joints go bad quick, especially if they're used in someone's pockets..

That's actually the #1 cause of failure, melting solder points. You are correct. It happens a lot during the charge phase.
