How do people enjoy floats?

But the carbonation is what makes it taste bad. Rootbeer floats taste like the head on real beer.

a bit yea..
but the beer head, tastes bad because the foam is bitter..
Whereas for example coffee milk foam tastes generally good because it's often sweetened..

Stop coming at me with these rational thoughts. I want someone to hate Soda Floats with me dammit!
When I went to America, I discovered floats in Arizona I think it was. We were shocked at the mere idea. It's one of those things you wish people would dis-invent :P .

I agree.
Did you actually try one though?
You have to be at Disney or something for real fireworks.No.When I went to America, I discovered floats in Arizona I think it was. We were shocked at the mere idea. It's one of those things you wish people would dis-invent.

It was on the 4th of July, come to think. We were at a Denny's or something it was called and we had some kind of blueberry and strawberry pancake special with whipped cream. And however many litres a small Coke was xD . Fortunately, we didn't go to places like that more than twice or so xD . There were flags absolutely everywhere, but we were disappointed with how little fireworks there were.

Coca Cola and Vanilla Ice Cream is great. After Coke stopped selling Vanilla Coke in the UK a few years ago it was as close as I could get without spending a lot of money importing it (bearing in mind I was about 14 at the time).
But now Vanilla Coke is back, so I only really have Coke floats in American-style restaurants.

I need a rundown of american restraunts menus. Unless you just mean fast food.

Not necessarily fast food like McDonalds, but on the lower end we have 5 Guys and TGI Fridays. Better places will mostly just have a really good choice of burgers (cooked rare), smoked BBQ (brisket, burnt ends etc.) or even just fried chicken. It's often more the theme of the restaurant than the actual food that would make me classify it as American, so things like Shakes and Floats on the drinks menu; these really aren't standard outside of ice cream parlours. Décor as well, although happily in recent years places seem to be moving away from the 50s diner theme.
Oh, and they will generally sell that ****ty "craft beer" instead of real ale. That said I can't complain when a place stocks some good bourbon (i.e. anything that isn't Jack Daniels or Jim Beam).
