Looks like it went with the IBM PC JR (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PCjr) judging from the badge. And guessing from the part number, I'd say it's probably a rubber dome keyboard. Not buckling spring.

The PCjr is widely considered to be one of the worst keyboards ever designed, and considered to be one of the main reasons why the PCjr was a commercial disaster.

I own a PCjr keyboard and no lie, it feels incredibly bad; rubber dome with integrated sliders, horribly scratchy and binds on off-center presses, even with the 1u keys. The domes themselves are mushy and hardly tactile. I'd say the key feel is reminiscent of a cheap $0.99 calculator from your local strip mall thrift store, so it's no wonder that the 1st gen board looked like one too.
It's almost comical that this POS came from IBM. What they were thinking only God knows.

I would love to learn more about the behind the scenes affairs during that era. They certainly had some questionable design decisions, then the heroic Model M layout was released, seemingly to make up for it all.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Couldn't resist the condition its in and bought it last evening. ;D
Anyhow i might pass it along to any fellow enthusiast who more likely to do some mod to it or make it alive again. :thumb:

The thing is that this keyboard isn't the worst one the PCjr had. This is actually the improved model. The original 'chiclet keyboard' pictured in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PCjr#/media/File:Ibm_pcjr_with_display.jpg was, by all accounts, even worse.

Goodness, that looks like a keyboards designed for people who can only type with two fingers. :D
