I'm in the market for a new set of keys,So I wanted to get an idea of what sets were popular amongst the geekhack community. Are there any Topre sets I should be looking at?

Sorry to tell you this, but the most coveted keysets in the community are limited run and not easily available. Also, there are only a few colors of Topre keysets out there, and most colors are sold out wherever you look.
Other sets that are more widely available and still decently popular include sets from the shops on pimpmykeyboard.com, originativeco.com, massdrop.com, and mechanical keyboards.com. Take a look there if you want to buy new keys!

Favorites among the ones i own. (These are all Cherry MX sets)
Midnight DCS (Favorite for looks the plastic is FAR too thin IMO)
BSP CHerry Profile Dyesubbed by IMSTO , favorite for feels though they look sharp also
Black Blank PBT Cherry Profile from Originative (Just clean Sharp looks and really affordable also)
Favorites i do not own i would like to
Eve
Deep Space
No real Topre sets i want or own since the stock caps are just so nice as is. I do have a Red PBT spacebar on my HHKB though with a Red FN PBT keycap and Red Control/Right shift/esc, not sure i'd do much else to it.

My favorite sets are:
1. Round 6 Space Cadet (Round 4 SPH is serving as a substitute for now)
2. Round 5/6 Honeywell
3. PuLSE
4. Granite
5. Dolch DSA

There are no custom topre sets, only sets made by Realforce such as the blanks etc.
I think community favorites would be GMK Hyperfuse, GMK Dolch, OG Cherry etc. Cherry profile is loved on geekhack.

Some of the most coveted/popular from the limited time I've been on GH so far are...
GMK Hyperfuse
Team Hammer's (Also produced by GMK) Red Alert/Olivetti
[Basically, any GMK set]
SA Penumbra/PuLSE
OG Cherry Dyesubs
POM Jelly
I'm 100% sure there are a ton more, but I'm just... drinking right now waiting for food to finish and don't want to exert anymore mental energy

When were PuLSE and Penumbra made by GMK?

err, oops totally wasn't paying attention LOL. I was reading a thread about someone wanting GMK to make it and i guess it stuck in my mind while typing this. I apologize, I was hungry LOL

OG Dye subs = true hype value. actually worth it :thumb:
OG desko --> I love the soft feeling. Other doubleshot sets are nice too.
GMK. Good if you don't use LEDs for nice colors and quality.
Topre and IBM caps are very good too. All original PBT keyboard caps seem to be great actually.
Man I saw those OG dye subs and I gotta say I need them in my life... Any Idea where I could get them? I'm guessing mech market or classifieds, but I like to always buy new.

Dolch is my fav.
I really like the look of Space Cadet but don't own so I dunno how I would feel about it after a while
Adler colorway is nice too.

I quite like Nuclear Data Green.

I'm a big fan of the JTK Debut aka JT Royal Purple set. It's been really good quality and comes with lots of keys. Only drawback is lack of ISO support but if you want you could just get the relevant keys from WASD because their purple color is only a little bit darker. Obviously the plastic quality is a lot better on the JTK.
I really want GMK Cyan but it's hideously expensive to order.

I would love that Royal purple for my quickfire rapid, but there's something weird about putting such a nice set on a cheap keyboard.

If you really think about it, the keycaps can sometimes be the most expensive part that goes on a KB, so in relation to the kb itself, everything is eclipsed by some of the most high end sets (OG Cherry Dye Subs, GMK Hyperfuse, etc). So, I mean, if it looks good to you, then go for it lol, it's your keyboard

And all that together is eclipsed by the price of a single aftermarket Clack.

I might just make a whole artisan set since I have the equipment. Might be cheaper than buying at these aftermarket prices.

Believe it or not, since joining I have little to no interest in 95% of all the artisans I've seen lol. I only like a few of the blanks (HKP & Jellykey)

My favourites:

OG Cherry in beige and black.
do you double shot ?
I meant black on beige and white on black, of course, as you know, they are double shots.
-
Does "OG Cherry" refer to the era of Cherry keycaps when they were spherical?

After a second though on the phrase you wrote, I'd say that I would love to "double shot" :p
-
Does "OG Cherry" refer to the era of Cherry keycaps when they were spherical?
OG simply means original, so Cherry caps made by Cherry Corp not GMK
Okay, well, as I understand it, Cherry made different styles of keycaps over the years, so saying "caps made by Cherry" isn't specific enough to know what the person has in mind.

The profile is just one, the type of legends may vary; they may be double shot, dye sublimated or lasered; but, OG goes mainly for the first two, and to double shot most of the time.

Stock topre PBT and cherry pom.
why you like cherry POM so much?
I like Cherry POM because it's denser than PBT therefore makes a real nice sound. The feel of the keycap however is very unique and is not for everyone.
