Title: New HHKB problem.
Post by: Bananabooty2409 on Thu, 04 August 2016, 00:36:48
Hello. Today I got my HHBK pro 2. its is my first topre board but I have owned a few mechanical boards with cherry switches before this. Anyways, I really like it alot and its my favorite keyboard I have used so far but my "1" key for whatever reason feels way lighter and feels much different from the rest of the board which has been throwing me off while gaming. It also lacks the "thump" that the other keys have when they bottom out and is much softer. I removed the keycap to see if there was something jammed under it or something but everything looked normal. anyone know what this could be? I understand every key is not going to be exactly the same feel, but it way softer almost a "loose" feel to it.

It is probably just the +/-15g on the rubber. It may just be that it's one of the extremes. Try testing out how much force is needed by stacking coins. The feeling of one of the keys being softer than the rest is not unheard of. Nearly all of the keys on the right side of my HHKB feel soft and lack a bump, but I'm trying to get a replacement. If it really bothers you, because it's so light, try contacting the seller to see if you can get a different one sent to you, because some people don't mind keys being lighter than others, but some can't stand it.

Good luck!

P.S I may be wrong. It may be something else causing the feeling, but the 15g tolerance is likely to be the problem.
