In fact, there is probably about zero lead time for a DCS set. Should be able to get this one done quickly.

Going through Massdrop, or what?

I'd be very interested in a set! It's one of my favourite colorways... The yellow arrows are a cool touch. I'm also fine with the DCS profile.

There's always Tai Hao Olivette

Those aren't the original manufacturer of WYSE.  I am looking to get as original as possible of a set without compromise on layout.  I've owned those caps and they seemed very cheap compared to DCS.  That set also does not have the caps I am looking for.

How are you planning to do the layout for the bottom row? Also, what is the MOQ for Signature Plastics?

Definitely a cool idea and a nice way to retrofit those old Wyse sets after you get those sweet vintage blacks off the board. :P

I already have an old Wyse terminal board (exactly the same as pictured). Would be interested if you could make a child kit that is basically a moggle kit to bring old boards up to standard  :thumb:

1800 support would be sweet too (R1 Delete, End and Pg Down, along with the split numpad plus/minus keys.

I will add 1800 support.  Can't believe I forgot that. I don't plan to make a moogle kit as I mentioned in the OP.

I see the updated renders, pretty good coverage overall  :thumb:

Maybe add a R4 1u blank or R4 1u Control? Allows for a bit more flexibility!

I'd be interested depending on price. One thing I like better in DCS over Cherry is the extra contoured of its bottom row, they are of course thinner than Cherry, but still, a good option to type, and this color way was originally made by SP. I would suggest you to check the feasibility of adding a 6u space bar for full compatibility with contemporary 1800 key boards that carry 1u mods as well. 6u space bars in a DCS set would be a first, as far as I know.

I'll have to ask about that and the added cost.  Not sure how many people out there use 6u spacebars.  As far as I am aware, every 6u spacebar has an offset stem?  My OG cherry 6u and gateron PBT spacebars both did.

Another concern would be adding more legends to the kit.  This is a total of 6 more keys.

This is more of what you are looking for?

Those 1u mods are perfect! This will have the added benefit of supporting boards like RS68/RS96 with the 3x 1u mods on the right hand side of the spacebar!

I would be 99% in, since I'm super curious about DCS, and Midnight makes too much of a statement

Would be nice to have 1.25 blanks, or maybe a Cmd + Meta

Also consider pivoting to a unique, globally appealing colorway, since there might be similar DCS interest waiting to be tapped

I have a thing for stepped keys, otherwise my layouts always have blank spaces :)

looking at it again looks like 2.5u  that cap is the reason for this GB hahah!

Yes, some Wyse terminal boards have absolutely bonkers layout. I bought a vintage Wyse board earlier in the year, and that one came with an 10u spacebar!

It would be wise to check if the stems in the 6u space bar fits the Cherry positions, I suppose they should but just double check them.

I'm almost positive the SP 6u spacebar is centered, not off-centered like the Cherry/GMK ones. I believe they have stabilizer mounts 2u (38.1mm) to either side of the center mount.

Edit: Yes, I just verified both of these facts with my Alpine Winter 6u spacebar.

Hum!, that means that adding them, as they are, will be of no benefit for 18XX users; unless, SP has a mold with the off centered stems for 6u space bars.

Hmm thanks JD!  I'll have to ask then to make sure.

@ideus Those Icons look really nice.  Reminds me of the OTD cap sets out there in DCS.  I''ll have to think about those maybe as a separate pack or something.

Of course, what you think it is in the best interest of the group buy and the design of the set, I just want to let you know that the molds should be already available if you want to include them here.

If I may suggest something. I think you should split the set into two kits, like you have now. But make one kit the Alphas plus oddball compatibility, like ISO and 1800. Make the other kit the Mods plus Tsangan, etc. That way, people who already have alphas only need to buy the mods set, whether they have a standard 87-key layout, 86-key, etc. And the people who want less popular kits like 1800 and ISO get to have their kits subsidized by the popularity of the alphas set, and are also required to support the GB by buying the alphas. Just my opinion, but that's how I would do it.

Thanks for making a separate mod kit, I will be picking one up for sure (possibly a full set including alphas as well, money permitting...

Great job on adding the 6u space and 1u mods, it really does help with not only 1800 winkey layouts but also 68/75/96% users. Too bad about the stem position, but stem transplant is still an option for users who really want to make the kit work with OG Cherry boards (two part Epoxy does wonders)

Modifier legends were left/middle on Wyse PCE but left/top on the Wyse ASCII.
I am not sure that the modifier colours were exactly the same on Wyse ASCII and PCE ...

If you are going to do a vertical (ISO) Enter key that is accurate to Wyse PCE Intl. then that key should be white and have a symbol, not text.

I'm almost positive the SP 6u spacebar is centered, not off-centered like the Cherry/GMK ones.
I have one from SP that is offset. I tested that it works on my custom where I otherwise use a Cherry key.
But do ask them if they have a mould for a 6u key that supports both offset and centred switch.
