I ended up buying a SGI white alps keyboard. I'm typing on it at the moment. It's quite nice however the 'w' needs to be pushed a little harder for it to register than the other keys. I notice that i tend to push the 'w' key in the upper left corner when i type and i'm not sure if it's just the key or the way i'm pushing it.
I have taken the key off and it looks like normal also the switch feels like normal when being pressed down. I'm thinking about undoing the keyboard and swapping a switch from the say the number pad for the w.... Or is there a way I can get some replacement white switches for this? What do people think?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

In the meantime, Alps switches are very easy to open up and maintence, no soldering is required, just need two flat head screwdrivers. See if you can figure it out.
