Title: Hi all!
Post by: ReadmeDotTxt on Sun, 21 August 2016, 03:28:01
Hi Everyone,

Just really getting started with this whole mechanical keyboard thing. I've had one for a while, but never really knew how deep the rabbit hole went until the past few weeks. My friend and I have been toying around with an idea to make our own full size keyboards for work so I've been doing a lot of research. I've been impressed with the community and resources here.

Thanks for all of the great knowledge I've picked up so far. Hopefully I can contribute something back!

Welcome to Geekhack!

This rabbit hole goes very deep.  Very deep!

What keyboard have you been using?  And do you want to make your own to overcome some deficiencies in its design, or as a learning exercise?

I've had a Corsair K70 with Cherry Reds  for a few years now. I'm getting a new computer at work and will be needing a keyboard to go along with it. Between myself and a friend, we have the capability to make a keyboard from the ground up. It'll be more as a learning exercise and to see what we can do with this. I've been looking for a fun project to do for a while and this is something that has really piqued my interest, especially after seeing all of the cool keycaps that keep coming out. It's so hard to say "no" to them haha.
