The other day I did lube and silence for my RF, the result was awesome. Smooth and quiet, although the travel distance did change a little bit.
Yesterday, all of sudden, some of the keys started to generate the ping noise. I don’t even typing on them; just tap on them lightly and there is ping. It’s kind of annoying. so I decided to lube the switch stem a little bit. Without dissembling the keyboard again, I just lube the outside part of the stem. After lubing, some keys stop the ping. But some keys still ping. Then I think how about lube the stem of keycaps a little bit? I apply a thin lube to the stem of keycaps, after that, all pings are gone, my board is quiet again.
Just thought I should share this. :D
A little warning for lube the switch stem: it makes the switch extremely smooth. I make a lot of mistake while typing on it; need some time to get used to.
