Title: anybody live in berlin?
Post by: trenzafeeds on Tue, 23 August 2016, 18:25:21
I'm moving to potsdam in a couple weeks, and I was wondering if anyone in the Berlin/Potsdam area could give me a recommendation of a good bike shop around them!

Moving permanently?

for a year of school, then its back to the USA. turns out its much more economical to buy a bike and then sell it after a year rather than paying a ****ton to ship my bike both ways.

I lived there for half a year. But I still visit quite often.

One of the bigger stores is Staedler (https://shop.zweirad-stadler.de) but there are tons of cheaper and smaller shops throughout Berlin.

If you just want a cheap bike, look for second hand shops or visit some of the weekly Fahrrad Flohmarkt (http://www.berlinerfahrradmarkt.de/) (flea markets).

Other than that there are a few bike builders in Berlin with some really stylish bikes such as Schindelhauer (http://www.schindelhauerbikes.com/).

Me? I just took my own bike from home since I was coming in by car anyway.

Keep in mind though that Potsdam and Berlin are two different cities with quite a bit of distance between them so you might not be visiting Berlin that often.
