Well,  considering the last roll lasted 19 years..

I figure I'd get a good one for the next 19 years ..

Nonono...

Only cuz  the --Rootwyrm brand flux-- caused Bezerkfan-tape to not stick on the Solder joints..

This what happens when you get cheap and ****ty flux

Some tape retains its integrity no matter what gets underneath it, you know the better quality stuff.

Incorrect,  there's a specified limitation to any tape..

More importantly we need to clean off the Gunk that is --Rootwyrm-- before applying the Good Berserkfan Tape..

You have an interesting idea of what constitutes good; I wouldn't have you repairing any electronics at my house if this is how you judge quality.

The electrical tape was Good,  However,  the Procedure and proper handling was poor.

It's true that while the job had been too large for the small electrical tape to handle..  It was indeed the Bad Flux which caused the most problems...

I've very few positive experiences with electrical tape aside from taping up bike equipment (finishing handlebar tape, in a pinch bike seat repair, yadda yadda). I'm just not convinced that there is an electrical tape brand better than wire nuts or soldering & shrink wrap.

I like electrical tape a lot. It is a great all-purpose repair like duct tape, only more discreet. Strong and waterproof.

I keep black, white, and red around all the time.

I've seen electrical tape used in previous installations (I was an A/C installation mechanic for nearly six months - I couldn't take the heat :-[) and I would usually find bite marks and feces around the electrical tape. I know there has been lots of progress in incorporating chemicals that taste horrible to rodents but I still can't trust electrical tape.

Electrical tape worked beautifully for securing the handlebar tape on my old World Sport drop bars, though. Definitely held up to lots of rain :thumb:
