Title: Hi from Chicago!
Post by: arhetue on Thu, 25 August 2016, 12:30:17
Hello fellow enthusiasts.

Attorney from the Chicagoland area here. I type all day long most days and was surprised I had never tried a mech board, or at least not since the old days, and I started down the rabbit hole about 3 months ago.

I have moved through a Das model S with browns, tried out a bunch of keys via switch testers, and now have a Leopold FC660M with cherry blues at the office and a WASD CODE TKL with cherry greens at home. Still not sure if I prefer the greens or the blues.... I just know I like the clickety clack.

Anyway - now that I have the boards and switches I like I have started to play around with various keycaps, and seriously thought about getting an aluminum chassis for the Leopold on the most recent massdrop.

At least my wife can't be too concerned, I have started perusing all the keyboard forums instead of the fountain pen forums. Expensive hobbies.... gotta love them.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Some nice keyboards you're collecting.

If you want the aluminium Leopold case, get it now.  There is no telling when, or if, it will be available again, and secondhand prices tend to be astronomically high.

Also we have a writing and fountain pen (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=59329.0) thread, where you're more than welcome to post your collection :D  Didn't think you'd escape that easily, eh? :p
