Title: How I cured the yellowing on HHKB Pro JP made in 2008
Post by: orpheo on Sat, 03 September 2016, 09:11:22
Hey there! I just bought a HHKB pro JP from eBay.
Got it for 150€ but it was in rough state! the side is all yellow, and the key looked OLD!
So I emailed the honest seller who refund me so the board cost me 120€.

After that I just took all the keycaps off and cleaned them with soap, some toothbrush action on top for the rougher key. And now they look new!

As for the yellow ABS case side, I just rub with kleenex and spit, and put it in the sun. And miracles it is now clear from the old yellow!

No peroxide, no oxy stuff, just handrub action and sunlight.

Thanks PFU, that is a nice keyboard!

I cleaned it with spit dry then put it in the sun... It worked like a charmed. The seller told me it was from nicotine that the side turned yellow though.
