Title: School me on ALPS TKL options
Post by: OfTheWild on Fri, 09 September 2016, 21:45:17
So what else is out there that might be a bit more obtainable than the leeku pcb/plate option in an Orion (http://kbdlab.co.kr/index.php?document_srl=2381083&mid=board_Lsno50)?

You can buy a KBParadise V80 with Matias or Fukkas and swap the switches. It's already programmed so all you have to do is swap the switches.

Oh very cool. I just read cptbadass's review (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=73438.0) and it sound like a good option to get going.

On that note, a Filco Zero works too, and I believe it works with Frosty Flake or whatever custom controllers are compatible with Filcos (not all that familiar), so you can turn it into a fully programmable keyboard.

The Zero is suppossed to be very similarly built and looking to the V80 as well. I wonder if KBParadise made the Zeros?

Yes, you can check it out here  (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=64583.msg2116907#msg2116907)
I'm holding off on buying KB v80 until we have confirmation that it works with Pegasus Hoof like the good old Filco.

This might end up being what I do with my extra Blue Alps, it's way too cool! I am waiting to give Zealiostotles a try before I settle on my next clicky keyboard build but I know I'm definitely shooting for an aluminum case and TKL this time around. If I'm going with Blue Alps I could just wait for the Rosa/BlueNalgene's GB, though... Decisions, Decisions!
