Why not invest in a better monitor Tp? you can buy brand new 1920x1080 24" monitors for less than 100$.

It's a 3007wfp.

I just run it at 1280x800, because windows 7 does not play nice with Dpi multiplication

Do you think it could be your video card drivers? I never had any issues running a monitor at 1080 in win 7.

The OS itself scales fine,

But many applications as it works in Win 7 will not render properly with increased dpi

Dual 25inch screens, each 1920x1080 @100%

I'm usually about an arm length away, I don't really like it any closer (obviously this only works on desktops).

That's a driver (or firmware) problem, Win7 can use any resolution supported by the card.

My last laptop had that resolution (12in screen with Intel graphics!), Win7 was fine. Linux on the other hand struggled with the scaling. It was a factor in why I sent it back.

It scales everything except many of the back water programs I use..

Not gonna say what those are..  I'm embarrassed.. (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/sweating-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862522)

I knew you had a 1280px wide resolution but with a 30 inch display? I wasn't aware they even made monitors that resolution/size, unless of course it's a TV.

Has to be a TV.

For me it's 100% zoom on a 27" 1440p monitor but the AG filter is too strong which can cause a bit of eyestrain. I actually prefer a smaller DPI.
