Why not invest in a better monitor Tp? you can buy brand new 1920x1080 24" monitors for less than 100$.

My last laptop had that resolution (12in screen with Intel graphics!), Win7 was fine. Linux on the other hand struggled with the scaling. It was a factor in why I sent it back.
