Hi guys, I have a few questions regarding modding my HHKB type-S with 55g dome and purple silent sliders:
1. Is it worth it for the type-S?
2. What is the damage in terms of $$$, what do I have to buy
3. Lubes recommended? If so, what type?
Thanks!!!

I really like the type S, I don't really see a good enough reason to try to hunt down RF silent sliders for an already silenced board, but that's just me, maybe someone might feel like they are totally different in feel.
As far as 55g domes, the way I got my hands on 55g domes was trading my 45g domes and a good soul traded me his 55g for my 45gs.
Once I get my old board back I'm going to buy some hypersphere rings and add them onto ol reliable with her 55g domes and lube the stems too.
krytox 205 and 103 mix has been recommended for quite a while.
You want something thicker for topre and 55g more so.

What is a silent purple slider?

What is a silent purple slider?
The sliders in Realforce silent boards are purple.

very informative. Do you know by any chance the difference between type-s sliders and purple sliders?

So I've recently modded my Realforce to silent, and I really enjoyed it.
Though problem with modding your Topre to silent with 3rd party rings is that the stock slider doesn't have a groove to accommodate the ring thickness, so key travel will be reduced.
The purple slider (Topre silent sliders) however are designed for it, so they have a tiny groove to accommodate the ring thickness, so the travel is almost the same (I say almost because it's still very slightly reduced).
So for your purpose, I'd recommend buying HHKB Type-S, then buy Realforce 87U 55g.
Then swap the domes and sell the Realforce afterwards. This way you'll have purple sliders and 55g.
