With my work being nearly finished on DSA Borealis and time being the only limiting factor, I figured now would be a good time to launch an interest check for my newest interesting keyset.

Introducing DSA Penguin

The idea behind DSA Penguin is that there is one simple base set with BoW alphas and WoB mods and then several different optional mod packs representing different species of penguins. This would then allow people to customize their keyset to look like one of their favorite kinds of penguin, which we all, of course, have. :thumb:.

All of these packs are still WIP, so if you have any suggestions to make them look better feel free to leave them here. Same goes with novelties, I'd love to hear some suggestions. Also let me know any feedback you have, positive or negative. Thanks for looking  :thumb:

I really like the base and little blue, not a fan of the others though. It would really be great if you had tux on the windows/mod key.

Of all the new "interest checks" coming out, I think this is one of the best looking. I think starting with the base and then having mod packs of the others is the best way to do it, so good thinking on that part.

Really well designed set. Make sure to do an awesome ortholinear set need some black and white DSA on my planck.  :p

It would be nice if the ortholinear kit supported each penguin so you have many choices instead of a crazy amount of small kits.

This is actually really cool. I need a proper BoW set and this could definitely fill that void, especially with the cool colour mods you've designed. Hoping to see this come to fruition after DSA Borealis is a reality (really excited for that one).

Hey guys, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm currently in class but I thought I should say this asap. Mito has kindly reminded me that this set is a little too similar to DSA Overcast and I definitely can see where he is coming from.

With that being said, unless I can think of another design keeping the same theme, I might need to end this interest check and move on with one of my other ideas.

I am a big fan of Rockhopper and Macaroni Penguins - but the colours for the Emperor Set got me!  :thumb:
Any plans for novelties? Or just go with a bunch of Tux keys?

Hella cute concept! Hey what about making the legends on mods orange for the Gentoo set? Just to reference its beak and feet without the more overt use of orange keys.

ETA: Also I was going to suggest including the Fairy Penguin, but you have a picture of it there listed as the Little Blue (I didn't know that was one of it's names). I used to do conservation work on one of New Zealand's offshore islands, and the Fairy penguins used to nest under our cabins! We'd hear them shuffling around and bumbling in and out at each end of the day.

However, as per Mito's request, I am going to abandon this IC and lock this thread.
I'll probably have a different IC up some time soon, as I have a lot of ideas I'm working on.

I'd recommend looking towards the next drop of DSA Overcast if you like the base set and the idea of choosing mods.
