Title: Should I sand my QFR Top Plate before Painting?

I'm thinking of painting my QFR and it has a soft touch finish, should I sand it before painting?

Yes, you will want to sand it off before you paint.

Definitely sand that rubbery coating. It is really not much effort; comes off quick.

I just finished repainting mine and sanding it down took roughly 3 hours. I used 400grit wet sanding.
