Looks pretty sweet, what are the layout options of the plate?
The one in the picture looks like no ISO support. That would be a bummer for me.

I really like the simplicity of this. Will the plate support switch top removal?

What exactly do you mean when you write assembly? Is it just diodes/resistors that Winkeyless does or will it mean a full keyboard without keycaps?

Only 1 option as seen in the picture  :)

No. It does not  :)

No LED like octogon case?

For this version, i prefer simplicity to have a fair price  :D

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Assembling = full keyboard without keycaps

Holy ****, trying to scrounge together the money for this right now. Only request: could we see the possible layouts (visualization like with keyboard-layout-editor)? It looks like standard 75% ANSI, but the bottom row seems to have some different possibilities.

From the look of it, the bottom row options are as follows:
Winkey
1.25 1.25 1.25 6.25 1 1 1
1.25 1.25 1.25 6.25 1.5 1.5

WKL
1.5 1.5 7 1 1 1
1.5 1.5 7 1.5 1.5

Basically, either 6.25 or 7u spacebar available, with 3x1.25u mods (6.25 spacebar) and 2x1.5u mods (7u spacebar) to the left, and on the right it's either 2x1.5u or 3x1u. I am not 100% sure if there's 6u spacebar support, but I don't think it's possible with this PCB from WKL.

From the plate, it doesn't look like split left shift (1.25u+1u) or full right shift (2.75u) is available, in other words, it's ANSI only, with 1.75u Right Shift. Both centre and stepped Capslock appears to be supported.

And does the plate support ISO yes or no?

Plate on the pictures has no ISO support and the GB runner claims that's the only option. I'm keeping my hands off of this unless ISO support is confirmed. Would be a shame, there's 75% ISO plates around ...

Does this GB PCB have the same features as the WKL mini PCB?

The main feature I'm looking for is the controllers: ps2avrGB for PCB, and Attiny85 for RGB LED on back of the PCB.
Since its an alu case GB, I assume LED parts are not included, but does it have support for the same RGB controller and LEDs used in standard WKL boards?

Does this GB PCB have the same features as the WKL mini PCB?

The main feature I'm looking for is the controllers: ps2avrGB for PCB, and Attiny85 for RGB LED on back of the PCB.
Since its an alu case GB, I assume LED parts are not included, but does it have support for the same RGB controller and LEDs used in standard WKL boards?

If you read the OP, it clearly says the PCB is from WKL.kr

It is directly purchased from winkeyless.kr , sorry if my mentioned made you feel confused  :)

Will you be able to offer acrylic case? Really want one of those since PCB offer RGB under grow. Please. Please. Please.

I may have some left in-stock. Let me check and feedback to you later  :)

Very interested! One question though: This will be my first build and I would like to use zealios switches. It seems that in order to use the Zeal PCB mount switches with a place, the PCB needs to have additional holes to accept non-plate mounted switches. Will the winkeyless.kr PCB accept these type of switches or should I get the plate mount specific switches?

edit: sorry if this is a noob question!

Thanks for doing this!

Yes, the additional holes for the pcb-mounted switch are there. Most pcbs will have the additional holes. The only common one that doesn't is probably the Phantom.

Edit: Also, in the case that you did buy a pcb without the pcb mount holes you could just cut the pcb mount legs off of the switches to turn them into plate mount

Appears to be true, but GB says: "Plate: 25 (only 1 layout)"

Ive been looking for a 75% pcb and comparing costs. I was wondering how shipping is calculated for this buy. If I only order the PCB, is it possible to reduce shipping cost?
I'm located in New York, USA.

If you only want the PCB, why not get it straight from WKL?

Most importantly you need a 1.75 u right shift. You need some versions of the home cluster that fit lower rows if you want your right column to have the correct profile

And does the plate support ISO yes or no?

And does the plate support ISO yes or no?

Plate on the pictures has no ISO support and the GB runner claims that's the only option. I'm keeping my hands off of this unless ISO support is confirmed. Would be a shame, there's 75% ISO plates around ...

I just updated the Universal Plate
Carbon made, remove top
So the price is a little pricy.

It looks like the original 60% could have supported a weight insert? Does this support that too?

Did this ever get confirmed?

Yes, it is  :thumb:

And how do we get such an insert?:D

Im working on it to have it as a free gift for everyone in this GB
Will update on it later :D

The acryclic is not compatible since drilling in the middle could bend it.

I accidentally ordered plate mounted stabilizer for the universal plate. Do they work?

No, look at the enter cutout. No way any plate mount stab can fit there. Not sure if it is possible to have cutouts that fit more than one kind of stabilizers and this plate seems to be PCB mount.

Just a little update, the block has been send to the CNC factory. I'll have some pic when they finish the CNC part.

Heh I'm pretty sure 99% of my GBs have been delayed... the few that weren't were for stuff like springs and sockets.

Just hoping to be pleasantly surprised since I figure I'm due. ;)

I definitely hope its soon too, though I'm getting the acrylic one so i know that isn't supposed to happen until after the aluminum ones are done.

I'll definitely post! It'll probably look like a bigger version of this guy's board(https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/5mlvvw/hyperfuse_x_kosmo/), since his was the 60% version that bdtbinh made.

That acrylic looks pretty slick. I'm usually not a fan of acrylic but I could definitely get behind a board like that.

There are few case left so the factory had not send me the Package before Tet holiday (start on 1/26 and end on 2/2)
But they will be able to send in 1 week from 2/3. Therefore i still can start shipping the package in 2/15 as planed :D

My TriC60 had a similar postage cost to this GB and it turned up in two days via DHL to the UK. I'd hope with the cost of shipping that an express service is being used here too?

My PayPal ends on 23.04.2017, the original timeline was:
Quote
Deadline 10/23
After that, we have:
1 Week for Invoicing + Billing
1 Month for Production
1 Week for Shipping

This should have shipped before Christmas! I will raise a dispute on 10.04.2017 unless I have an ACTIVE tracking number by then.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the very late reply. I have some trouble with job changing for the past few days. I will finish the current job this week and have 1 free week before starting the new one. So next week i will fully dedicate to finish the remain packaging and ship 80% of orders.
Some have already filed the complaint to Paypal and i think it is your right to do it, since it's been to long for the waiting due to my miscalculated timing.

Again, so sorry for your inconvenience :(

Well it looks like plain square cut outs on the plate so I don't think that'll support it. In the original images, the carbon plate (although not the right size) had the cut outs for switchtop removal.

Maybe its still possible and those are just wider? although than there could be wobble. Wodan, can you check?;)

Just confirmed with wodan. No switch top removal.

The removable plate sample was good, but the final product is not... So i asked them to reproduce and change to non-removable. It  was their 1st time doing this stuff so the removable kinda too hard for them. If you are not happy with that, just leave me a msg and i will find a way to sort thing out :(

You'd probably just want to make sure you used 5 pin switches to give them the extra stability.

Okay just did some checking on the pcb!

Everyone be aware the PCB - at least mine - came in bootloader mode and had to be flashed with the ps2avrGB firmware first!
Then you have to perform ALL MAPPINGS and configure the RBG leds.

I mean this case totally doesn't support any underlight at all but I still wanted them to all work. Three RGB LEDs had a a faulty soldering point that was simply fixed by using a soldering iron and heating all four soldering joints for a second.

So now the PCB looks ready to go!

What's going on with carbon plate? Missing screw hole, no switch removal, and very thin here for some reason(?)

I probably would have asked to swap to the standard plate if we'd been updated as to the issues that came about with the carbon

That's what I used but doesn't work. It's cool, Bui just confirmed it doesn't work and is trying to get me the correct ref! Are you in the UK? Does the tracking suggest it'll arrive soon?

My shipper is currently off for a few days due to his personal stuff so new tracking will be delayed too.
If you wonder why i dont ship directly through company service, that because i have a friend who work there and he can provide better price for the GB and also tax thing can be avoided :D

Oh you've got to be kidding me... I've got my board, and the plate is NOT ISO compatible. The cutout next to the ISO return is too small to accept the # key and the cutout for the left shift is too small to take the 1.25 shift+1u key. This is really unacceptable... how was this not tested?!

I've put a normal sized shift on the left when I realised, only noticed the other cutout when popping in the last switch. Fortunately nothing is soldered yet.

Take a look at the black resistors (they're rectangular). Loads of mine had zero solder on the bottom of them. You could visually see they weren't done and those keys didn't work. Touch of solder and they all worked fine.

But with 1 i thought about a lifted pad or a flawed trace  :-\

Ok, some of my keys aren't working - possibly my bad soldering. Which bit is the resistor, the little rectangle or the tiny one?

One  that doesn't get highlighted in the bootmapper is my split backspace; not sure if I need the _split firmware for this to work or bad soldering somewhere?

I'm not sure about the split backspace. But in regard to my other comment, it is the black ones that were missing some solder.

I have noticed the SMD diode on the key that isn't working is flipped compared to the rest. I've no idea how these work, but I'm guessing the positive/negative are the wrong way around? Or does it not matter?

If so, this could be my problem.

Also, I noticed a scratch on the anodising (just took it out of the box, so it came like this). Does anyone have any tips for hiding it? It stands out quite a lot in the light, some black permanent marker or nail varnish or something?

Yea I just had the same thing happen on a different pcb.  If a diode is placed the wrong way then that is your problem and I'm 95 percent sure of that.

Which is a shame because otherwise the case is very nice, and despite the delays, everything was nicely packaged and I had no issues with customs

bdtbinh, are you going to respond to any of this? You were online reading this thread when I posted in the first place about the plate. The guys who have received nothing need an update as to why and when, and those who have need a resolution to the complete lack of QC. I'm thinking a partial refund is the only acceptable solution here.

Uhhh.. All these issues with the PCB and anodizing makes me nervous.

Doesn't look like it, full list of issues

  • Plate isn't ISO, doesn't support switch top removal, odd cut-outs in some places (never communicated until we started receiving them)
  • PCB has QC issues
  • Brass plate screwed in with very rusty screws
  • Minor scratch/anodising defect

Which is a shame because otherwise the case is very nice, and despite the delays, everything was nicely packaged and I had no issues with customs

I can confirm, that i had:
1) rusty screws
2) no ISO Support Plate (needed to dremel, which i shouldn't have to at such a pricy plate)
3) PCB had some unsoldered diodes/resistors
4) although i have no anodizing, the rusty screws messed a but with my brass plate.

IMHO, although the PCB is from winkeyless (i assume), i never had issues with their PCBs, neither unsoldered joints, nor similar issues.

£15 for anodizing touch-up products (to hide the scratch), desoldering equipment I've had to order to flip the diode, extra work/compromise on the ISO plate, replacement screws... All after a 3 month delay. I think eddible is right, a partial refund is in order.

So he charged full price for a Winkeyless PCB that he ended up soldering incorrectly himself? This is scary, if mine arrives like this I probably won't be able to fix it with the tools I have.

The rusty screws and lack of quality control is scary too..

For those who have received the package and feeling unhappy with it, i really understand and will work with you until thing turn GOOD for both sides, no worry.
For those who have not received the package, even the refund deadline is passed, i still accepting partial refund for you in case you have problem with your package, too. Because this is not my 1st and last group buy, i still have many projects to come in the future.
All i ask is the patience and understanding for me to make this GB right for all members in it, also i'm willing to refund for you because it is all my fault, but half the price of the package is just too much for me to endure.
So please stay calm and continue to work with me until this GB is finished and everyone is happy.
Thanks all :)

That's the pcb we get - although not soldered by them. However, if you can solder it's easier to fix the pcb, there are just minor issues.

If your diodes ending missing solder from this group buy (likely) that's not TOO hard to fix, but if one of them is installed the wrong way like on mine you better be good at desoldering tiny components... I'm probably going to have to send mine off to someone with better equipment and more experience, which is adding more cost to an already very expensive keyboard.

I think that may be in the boat that I will be in. I have a simple soldering iron but can't do any fancy stuff.

Meh. My 180 days end on 23 April. If there isn't either a keyboard or tracking link by the day before then I will raise an issue with PP.

Ist there a resistor missing next to the iso enter (the lower one)? I'm asking, as my whole asdfghjjl row doesn't light up...

Edit: just saw they are missing for the whole row. That's unacceptable.

Yep - a simple update months ago with "Here is a photo of the carbon plate", would mean we would have noticed the issue with the cut outs and it could have been sorted.

Instead, lack of communication means OP now has to refund $50 x however many Carbon plates were sold. There are definitely lessons to be learnt from this group buy.

bdtbinh please could you respond to my PM asap

So just now my board started to act up. No clue what's wrong ... As soon as I connect it it lights up (normal) and when I do try first keypress it activates (like pushed) right Ctrl, F10, U, I, and two more iso keys next to enter...
I already tried: clear eprom, reflashing firmware, reflashing keymap.
I assume it's a pcb/firmware issue as it's persistent between multiple computers and even with no switches in said slots the keys get pressed.

Does anyone has a clue how to fix this?:(

Edit: just saw there is a short on the atmega... Row 13 is shorted.

Well, good luck with that  :-[

I managed to remove and refit my flipped smd diode, all keys working now.

I swapped the screws for ones that aren't rusty, there was a weird residue under the weight so you guys might want to check for that (there was a puddle at each screw hole)

Petch which screws did you go for in the end? :)

4 days since the last update and no response to my PM. This is getting a bit silly. Was told I would have my board last week, we're now at the end of the week later and not even shipped as far as I'm aware. I hate to think how long I would have had to wait if I'd kept my assembled option? Anyway, few more days OP before I'm opening the paypal dispute. Please keep to your word from a couple of weeks ago where you said updates will be every two days.

I just wanted to recap my board.
Although the GB could have been better communicated (ISO plate, delays, etc) i have a really nice board. The rusty screws were changeable for 2€, some resistors which were missing were a fix of 1,8€ + some soldering.
I have 0 anodizing issues, the brass plate is really heavy and the iso plate is - after dremeling ISO support) - sturdy and really solid. And altough the pcb was soldered by bdtbinh himself instead of winkeyless (which reflects in the price) there were no flaws on what he did ;)

All in all i would rebuy, if the GB would be more transparent.

Please could we have an update bdtbinh.

You are not replying to my PMs or paypal dispute messages. I'm not interested in a refund, I just want to receive the board I paid for nearly 6 months ago. As I've said in PMs, I'm not even interested in the PCB/Plate/Switches etc if it's going to cause further delays, just send me the case or at least give me any information so I know what's happening. As Thumper_ said, transparency would go a long way for this group buy and reinstil some trust from the participants. Regardless of whether your updates are bad news or no news at all, they are still important and keep us aware that you are around and working on it.

Simply avoiding the thread and ignoring messages will not do you any good for future buys that you want to organise. If you want to run more group buys more professionally and transparently, why not start now and finish this one with regular updates for the customers that have paid for a keyboard kit that should have been sent to them many months ago.

I understand the group buy has been stressful for you because of the issues; however there is no benefit for you in ignoring the participants. If problems arise, you should update the participants and discuss them with us so that we can work together to tackle the problem and agree on a solution, rather than take the entire problem on yourself. It will only cause further issues down the line.

Do not over promise too. A few weeks ago you said updates from you would be every 2 days, but it was very short lived. If you feel you will be able to provide updates every 4/5 days, then let people know you will update them weekly and you can over deliver.

Any communication is good communication. So please could you kindly provide us with an update on the status of the group buy. Thank you.

No tracking number yet. He said if he didn't send out this week, he'd provide full refunds to those who wanted one.

I originally jumped on one of the 2 extras back in late December since it was a week away from completion. It's April now..I think I rather get a refund at this point. We'll see.

I don't mean to be mean, but the communication is lacking indeed. I'm not sure why logging in for a few minutes can't be done. :(

Edit: Clarified a few things.

I think there is a misunderstanding here. As i said "all left orders will be send before the end of next week" on 4/2 so it mean this week, not last week.
For now my balance is negative so even that i want to refund, i cant
So i let it all be there and still, going to finish shipping all left orders this week.
After that, you can feel free to issue the refund.

I'm not understanding what you're saying here.

Are you saying, for those who wanted a refund, they're still going to receive their item and have to pay money out of their own pocket back, just to return it?

That doesn't make sense if they want a refund before it's sent out, as you stated you'd do. If you still ship it when they requested a refund, you're causing them to have to pay probably $80+ dollars to return it to you.

You really are going to have a hard time running another group buy if your conduct is anything like this one. Have you shipped mine and everyone elses boards yet or not? Please please update us or I'm just going to give up and get a full refund from PayPal and you can deal with them chasing you for $470.

Keep in mind it has that horrible plate issue with stabilizers, so you will have to modify your plate.

Saturday: i was told my board was packaged and will be sent on Monday

Wednesday: I receive an invalid TNT tracking number
Today: I'm without any further communication since receiving my invalid tracking number despite my emails

So all in all the shipping process is running as smooth as the group buy, looking forward to getting or not getting my board from DHL and TNT!  :thumb:

To mirror what Will_26 said, I sent an email requesting a tracking number to the address listed in the Reddit thread about their 60% Blackjack Keyboard on Tuesday.

That person (not sure if it's bdtbinh or his friend) replied saying that DHL picked up the package from the company (not sure what company) and that he would send specific tracking to me after 12 hours. Didn't receive a follow up email or a notification from DHL that I would be receiving a package (as I signed up for their text notifications). Who knows at this point.

Now I'm not getting my money back and I'll be forced to deal with whatever issues this case has (which is highly likely based on prior comments on this thread). I swear, this thing had better be pristine.

Well, I'll be damned.  I received a tracking number this morning too.

Hopefully there won't be any issues.

My tracking number is now working. Not sure why it took 4 days from the day it was collected but either way seems there is something on its way to me... Should be here Tuesday. To those of you without your board yet or a tracking number, keep bugging whoever you can and make sure you have a PayPal dispute open, good luck.

Hey everyone - I just received my parcel so wanted to update so you guys waiting know what to expect. This was my order:

Silver Case with brass weight
PCB x 1
Carbon Plate
Cherry MX blacks
White LEDS
Stabs

Here is what I received:

Silver Case with brass weight: It it beautiful - hoping my KBD75 innards fit, haven't tried yet
PCB: NONE - No PCB included (assuming they didn't bother due to previous issues
Carbon Plate: 1 + ANOTHER aluminium? Plate - with same cutout issues as Carbon plate...
Cherry MX blacks: NONE
White LEDS: NONE
Stabs: NONE

Will be further escalating my paypal case now to ask for a refund for the PCB ($50), Switches/Stabs/LEDs ($60) and Assembly ($35). Won't bother with the plate since I received 2...

*KBD75 insides do not fit the case, this is due to the plate design of the KBD75, as it's designed to be lodged in between the two halves of the case. Looks like I'll have to buy a new WKL PCB and mod the plate...

Seriously? That is actually unacceptable. Hope you can get something back from PayPal.

Thanks. I've asked for $145 back for the PCB, Assembly and parts. That's more than reasonable since I didn't receive any of them. I've made a huge order from Winkeyless for everything I need to build it :)

I have recovered my money via paypal claim (he didn't respond to PP) and I am done with this GB. I will not be joining any future GBs from this guy.

My theory is he tried to run a second group buy (Tray mount Viper replica GB on Reddit -Notice how he was active on Reddit running a new group buy but refuses to log in here) to obtain funds to refund people here (Not willingly, but when someone won a case due to no contact where PayPal would provide refunds). He would have a new pool of money for PayPal to dip into so his account didn't get a citation). That's why his renders for that 60% board were so incomplete and the deadline was I think last week to pay.

He had these boards months ago but didn't properly solder the PCB's, or assemble them for those who paid for it. Months. You have to really wonder what the real reason for the delay was, but he refuses to be honest and provide clarification. That's the strangest thing. It only takes a few minutes to log in and provide an update. Him along with other board sellers are following that same exact trend of leaving people in the dark, and that can and will push people away from joining group buys in the future.

I had great hopes for this group buy, but OP is very shady and lacks communication. Thank goodness for PayPal.

They rejected my claim (for a partial refund) and won't re-review it... Maybe ow you've won against him they will

I thought this would go smoothly because he had run a GB in the past. Guess I'll just be a little less trusting of GB leaders now

Received my board yesterday. Packaging was pretty bad, but luckily the keyboard looks quite nice. There is a very mild anodizing blemish on the back of case, near the power inlet. Otherwise pretty good and heavy! I wasn't too sure if this GB would work out, so 3 months ago I got a TX75. Soooooo, I don't really need another 75. If anyone is interested in this black case, purple plate, brass weight and PCB hit me up. I would be willing to give a deal for those who did not end up getting their board from this GB.

Received my board yesterday.

I'm assuming you received a shipping notification beforehand? For the rest of us that did not paypal dispute in time.. it's just RIP? I guess I was due for a failed GB, just wish it could have been a less expensive one :(

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes I did receive a shipping notification about 4 days prior to its arrival. However, I had already started a paypal dispute considering the lack of communication especially in the past couple months. Honestly I'm not sure what can be done for those that did not complete a dispute in time. My suggestion would be to get in touch with Paypal and discuss your options, also continue trying to get in touch with bdtbinh.

My guess is that bdtbinh is still working on shipping and will ship them out when its convenient for him (which is unacceptable if you ask me). I emailed him 3 weeks ago asking for a refund once he acknowledged that he would accept refund requests. After being unable to get in touch with him, I made a dispute and was refunded the full price. Only then did I get a shipping notification.

^^ thanks for the response man. I feel better now, I imagine he'll stroll through soon enough with an update. No good reason I can think of to ship a kit or two to the US and then disappear forever.

I ended up in a similar situation to thatsmrdoctortoyou. I opened a PayPal dispute (asking for a full refund) and instead of responding to the dispute, bdtbinh shipped out the case. In the meantime, PayPal ruled in my favor and I received a full refund. Now I have both my money back and a case that I no longer want/need. I've sent messages to bdtbinh since then and I've still received no response.

Unfortunately I was in for the acrylic cases which were supposed to be produced after the aluminum cases, but he's gone completely silent on geekhack.
