Title: DSA spacebar Problem!
Post by: potatobot on Wed, 12 October 2016, 03:23:11
Hi guys,

Ive been using my DSA granite on my poker II with clears for some time, but recently i decided to sell the keyboard because clears were too heavy for my taste

Recently, I acquired a pok3r with mx blues and for obvious reasons i swapped out the keycaps with my granite set.

The problem is that my spacebar doesn't quite feel right, it sticks, it doesn't return immediately to it's original position when I release the key.

Is this a problem caused by using it on mx clears? I was thinking the stems might have expanded and wouldn't fit properly on the stabilizers.

Tested it out on other keyboards with mx browns as well and the same is true.

How do i fix this? is clip mod my only hope? i dont want to do something permanent until i determine the root cause first :(

Note: When I had it on my mx clear poker( NO CLIP MOD) the issue didn't exist.

Thanks!

:) i try

The issue might have been caused by my improper way of removing the spacebar. I only used 1 wire keycap remover even though i have two lol.

Well DSA space bars are pretty crappy, especially the 6.25u ones tend to get problems with Cherry stabilizers. The stem placement isn't 100% right - I coudn't put any DSA space bar on my Magicforce68 with Cherry Plate stabs no matter how much I bent and lubed.

Thats just sad, have you tried getting a replacement? Is it abs or pbt?

I have various DSA space bars from SP, different GBs, ABS, PBT ...

Put some GMK caps on, they work perfectly fine.

I've put DSA spacebars on several keyboards: Filco Majestouch-2, Varmilo VA108, Nappoo EC108Pro, Vortex Pok3r, WASD V2, CM NovaTouch. Never had a problem with the spacebar's stem placement on any of these keyboards. Maybe this has less to do with the spacebar and more to do with the Magicforce68...?
