EDIT: Disregard, Lasergist ended up being significantly cheaper even to buy just 1.
Hey folks-- doing an Atomic build and working on sourcing parts. I think I have a line on someone to build a milled bottom case (more on this later) but I need to get the top plate cut out. I'm looking at using the Universal MX top plate:

Here's the pricing breakdown from Big Blue Saw in T-304 Stainless Steel. Personally I'd like to go for adding the "Basic Finish" option but I'm open to discussion on whether the low-taper is necessary here (I'm assuming it doesn't matter on thinner parts)

Notably, there's actually a cut-out missing at the bottom right of BBS's rendering, I'll need to contact them to make sure they can cut this drawing correctly.

This is how Big Blue Saw renders the file on the site-- missing the cut-out at the bottom right. I'll be contacting them shortly.

BBS overcharge massively, please don't support them. It's fine for 1 off orders but even that is very expensive. Look at lasergist (on swills website) or a local company.
I'll also through out that I did the exact same GB you're planning, and it's a PITA and not worth the savings.

Interesting! I've seen other people around here using them so I figured it was the group favorite. I'll get a quote from Lasergist, thanks for the tip.

Yeah I only figured the group buy was worth it since at 5 units from BBS the price essentially cuts in half, would be awesome.

Seems you are correct sir! Lasergist is cheap! Thanks for the tip.

I'd be interested to hear about a case, since I've only got a plate on mine.

I would be up for milled cases. Wood, acrylic... last choice would be aluminium.

I think I've got some movement on cases but it'll be several weeks-- I need to get my top plate, PCB, and switches all assembled so I can send him the assembly to check for fitment after he's done. Seems to me that he does wood and acrylic but not metal. I'll make a new thread with more info when the time comes.
