Title: Keyboards with USB hub incorporated
Post by: philipVick on Fri, 14 October 2016, 09:22:50
I have been looking around for a keyboard with multiple UBS.  I have several USB devices that I am using sporadically.
The idea is to connect the micro USB to a USB Hub and one this port is used by a microcontroller like teensy.
Does anyone know what are the best USB hub for this job?

The reason there aren't many keyboards with USB hubs is power - a keyboard and one extra device might work, but beyond that you would have to specifically choose low power devices.

Most USB hubs also connect to mains power to get round this, so if you're building a keyboard that will not be moved often you could use one of them?  Any hub will do, usually the smaller the better so you don't need a huge case.

Or if you have a USB3 port to connect it to a USB3 hub should work as it has much more power.

Ok, maybe an hub is too much. I was hoping to get simply another USB port. All my devices requires low energy.
