I recently bought this nice terminal IBM Model M keyboard for $30. Photos are not very good and sharp, but I don't have a better camera (these were taken with camera on a cheap smartphone).
One keycap is missing, one key is dead. Many rivets are broken. Disassembled, vacuumed, cleaned with brush, Ajax, water and 96% alcohol.

Cool German keycap legends.

Sadly, cable is not detachable.

I was a bit confused when I saw RJ45 connector. I always tought that terminal keyboards used 5-pin DIN connectors.

Thanks to Soarer's converter by Orihalcon, keyboard now works with PCs.

This beauty (and the beast!) celebrated 25th birthday only few days ago!

It is not likely that one key is "dead"
The key stem is probably not seated properly over the spring. Try pulling it out and re-seating it. You may try standing the keyboard up on the bottom (space bar) side, and letting the spring flop down before you replace the key stem.

Happy typing on that beast!
When you can, do yourself a favour and give her a new lease on life: screw mod her.

OP has been MIA since last year - wonder if he got it working.
And is that a discoloured space bar? The first one I've seen on a Model M!

And is that a discoloured space bar?
Greenock plant went to ABS space bars in the mid-late-1990s. They also have a weird grounding wire to the chassis.

Ugh, same as HHKB. I don't mind a little yellowing of keycaps, but not uneven like that.
