Title: What really grinds your gears???
Post by: mark.wood_uk on Fri, 21 October 2016, 15:12:26
Ok. Pretty self explanatory title!

I'll kick this off:

eBay - What is the deal with sellers demanding, pleading, blackmailing and advertising that we Must give 5 star feedback?

This has happened in about the last year that sellers are putting more effort into advertising and pleading for 5 star feedback than actually trying to sell an item with a good write up and a high quality fast service!
One ebay shop springs to mind (eBay Shop, not private seller!) where there was a single line description of the item for sale and 4 paragraphs pleading, begging and demanding that the buyer 'Must' leave 5 star feedback... wtf! Just WTF!

Amazon - Why is it almost impossible to find out where my goods are coming from?

So I see a decent item competitively priced (not suspiciously cheap), check the delivery '3-5 working days' all good, check what details about the store/seller are available and all looks good! Add to cart - checkout... Confirmation email, still 3-5 days, all good, i'll have that new pair of jeans by the weekend! :thumb:
2 days later, dispatch email from the amazon seller:
Your item is now dispatched and can no longer be changed or canceled etc. Estimated delivery 8-12 weeks! WTF!!!
where the hell is it coming from, said 3-5 days when i paid!
scroll down...
scroll down........
Brilliant!....
''Thank for sell you cloth by Super Neon Happy Cat Co.
We great like your busy-ness please buy again!
7854B Great Buddah industrial estate, Yangdang, China, 5191367''

Where its coming from isn't the issue... The fact there is no way to tell before receiving that email AND that it always takes 8-12 weeks with Amazon!
I mean FFS what are they doing, giving it to an 8 year old immigrant that is rowing to the uk in a dingy?

I order lots of items direct from China and Japan and they are here within a Week.... 1 Week (10 days if there is a problem)!
SO WHY WHEN ITS AMAZON DOES IT TAKE 8-12 FRIGGING WEEKS!!!!

i use both depending on the message im tryna get across, my styling is really weird..

like I'll punctuate everything but then skip out on the last period of the last sentence

interchange your and ur in the same sentence or even more retarded say u're

never capitalize first word in a paragraph but all the following sentences yes

whatever rip depends on the mood I guess

From the nation that adds the silent "ue" to analog and catalog. And how many syllables are in "Worcestershire"?

But I agree, "texting" shortcuts are annoying.

Top Ramen. The good stuff rarely causes that kind of discomfort :-[

Hrrrrmmm... top ramen has very thin packaging..

Probably the pack or a few packs of which you ate were compromised..

Don't see any other way for ramen to go bad,  they're nearly invincible in the foiled bags.

Well, I'm probably gluten intolerant. I'm already lactose intolerant so I might as well be gluten intolerant too. Did I mention that I skip the water and salt packet and just eat the noodles raw? I do that.

Hah, that's nothing :p . Try Godmanchester, Fetherstonhaugh or Woolfardisworthy (Gomster, Fenshaw, and Woolzary respectively) :p .

In our more conservative past, it used to be that women were told to cover up, that women's sexuality was a bad thing, and that scantily clad women were slutty and shameful.

Then women's liberation happened and said it was ok for women to be sexual beings, and women's empowerment meant women being strong role models, heroes, powerful, capable of things men were capable of doing.

And then things turned around again and said portraying women as sexual beings is sexualizing them, so we need to go back to more demure imagery of women.

Except that suggesting we should go back to more demure imagery of women is slut-shaming, so we should allow women to wear what they want and portray themselves as sexual without shame or blame, like the annual Slut Walk.

Except if you use imagery of the Slut Walk to empower women, you are sexualizing them, so are misogynistic.

Unless we're talking about rights instead of empowering, in which case women should have the right to go topless like men, such as the Free the Nipple campaign.

Unless, of course, you actually show women freeing their nipples, or look at them, in which case you are sexualizing them and are a sexual predator.

It's pretty clear what we need to do. We need to portray women as sexual beings, but not being sexual. To wear what they want, but to not want to wear sexy outfits. To be free to expose what they want, but to never want to expose anything. That it's ok to be sexually clad, but not to clad sexually. To know women are sexual beings but to never see that women are sexual beings, except that there's nothing wrong with the idea of seeing that women are sexual beings, just the actual seeing of it is bad.

I think that's the message, and it's loud and clear.

Tp4 believes you may be utilizing the conflict-of-others as a perpetuating distraction from having to deal with your own personal hurdles.

@ Noisyturtle.

I think you're onto something there!
I have a little something to add to that.

Just to set the picture on this one:
When a woman with a large amount of cleavage wears a top which accentuates and exposes as much said cleavage to the point where its against the laws of gravity that it stays in the top. Again similar sort of idea for other body parts as well (just so i'm not suggesting a breast fixation!)

Whilst it is the height of manners not to stare at said cleavage it is in general human nature to be drawn to to that amount of bare skin in various areas of the body - breasts, bottom, thighs and hips  (to a lesser extent various other 'fetish' areas of the body too such as feet, ankles, shoulders etc)

Now when said woman wears such revealing attire (because its their choice to do so) yet at the same time complains about any additional attention from males i find to be quite duplicitous!

I don't mean this in a dirty or ogling way. I mean this in an inherently unavoidable way that your eyes want to wander whilst standing having a conversation with said woman , and it is extremely hard to resist the urge to do it. All the hetrosexual men reading this know what i mean (don't lie to yourselves )!
(i would like to mention at this point before anyone says something. I'm an ass and hips man myself! but still find it extremely difficult not to glance at 70%+ exposed cleavage!)

It is deeply ingrained genetic human nature to be attracted to female traits that denote being the best choice for a mate!
ie. large breasts for child feeding, wide hips for child birth, a tight pert bottom and pronounced curvature of the lumbar which suggests sexual readiness to mate!

All other living creatures on this planet mate based on Darwin's law of survival "The biological concept of fitness is defined as reproductive success." ie. the animal with the strongest, fittest and most prolific traits for their own survival have progeny in order to continue and refine the species. The only animal on this planet which does not is humans!

In the short term this has almost minimal effect based on the global population size.
But as a new and young race having only existed for a mear infinitesimal blip on the grand scale of things in the coming millennia we will effectively breed ourselves into extinction! That is if we don't already destroy ourselves with over population and destruction of our global ecosystem as we are already doing!
Again that is something that only humans do, we have nothing that predates us and are incapable of maintaining a population balance with our surroundings.

Okay... so scantily clad women to Darwinian law, that's pretty heavy for a Sunday morning! i need to lay down now lol
