did you rent that one?
yea.. it were $135 total with the grinding wheel + the grinder itself.
Pretty steep learning curve, not for feint-of-heart.. but it works really fast and well once you figure out how to control it..

It's all about finding that happy little spot that lets you take it where you want and not violently crash into walls. Then it's kinda fun.

yea.. this thing was throwing me in the beginning.... using this type of machine to grind is a bit different from polishing..
grinding really offsets the machine to one side, whereas polishing , it's still relatively pulling in the center..
And with polishing, you can just let it run in place, but if you do that with the grinder, it's gonna cut a giant donut into the floor..
That said,, tp4 made 2 feint donuts in the floor today.. hahahahaha.. prolly get it out with the chisel.
my hips are pretty sore from all the leaning.. (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/uhuhuh-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862523)

TP has 1000sqft basement. Spopepro lives in 750sqft house. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I used the Harbor freight one..
Worked great, and I was in a CLOUD of basement concrete / glue dust..
Didn't smell a thing..
From what I can tell though, the harbor freight one is meant to be disposable, even though you CAN buy replacement (PRE-filters) for it.. I don't think they sell the main filter..
Not totally sure, but I don't do this stuff ~ever.. so... I wasn't going to invest in a super-duper respirator..
It's still good after the 12 hours in the dust cloud though.. so.. def worth the $16

I don't think I'd reuse anything after grinding concrete in an enclosed space for 12+ hours

The 1000 sq ft basement is the more impressive part. That's more than my entire apartment. For a basement.

hahahahaha
well I had 3 boxfans aimed out the 3x vent windows, and one box fan on the 4th window for intake.
Dust cleared out quickly , but it was very cloudy till the very end, because this thing grinds 1.5-2 mm into the concrete.

I have not tested, but generally Power isn't an issue with typing.. unless we're talking type-writer..
But I don't have any typewriters to test on..
