I want a 103 that has the same variable response as an 87u... or all 45g, maybe even 55g.
My 103u had distinctly lighter pinky keys. I got used to it but if I switch keyboards often then I will aaaaaaaaaaa and ;;;;;;;;;;; with it. I don't do that with my variable 87u despite it supposedly being the same key switch weighting.
Has anyone else experienced this? I loaned the 103u to a relative that liked it so much they kept it and paid me for it so I no longer have it to test it's resistance.

If I remember correctly the 103U has 30/45/55 weighted keys where the 87U has 35/45/55 so on the 87U the pinky keys are slightly heaver. I occasionally have the same issue on my 86U which is also 30/45/55 but I've just learned to not rest my pinky fingers on the keys. The NEO I have is also 30/45/55 as well.
The 30g keys on the pinky fingers don't really bother me but when I use my uniform 30g board I find them to light. I really think Realforce got it right with the 87U by increasing the pinky keys to 35g on it.
If the 30g keys really bug you do ripsters key weight mod on the keys that bother you in particular the a and ; keys.

That's good to know. Elite needs to update their description on their 103 keyboards (http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=topre_keyboards,realforce)
They list the 103 as 35/45/55 just like the 87u.

I just remembered seeing it some where as being 30/45/55 and you are right EliteKeyboards has it listed as 35/45/55 but just to be sure I went and looked around on some Japanese sites and all of them list it as 30/45/55 including diatec (http://www.diatec.co.jp/shop/det.php?prod_c=607) (half way down the page). I guess to really be sure look at the box it came in. Maybe we can get patrickgeekhack to take a picture of his box because he has one.
EDIT: Forgot to add it is extremely hard to tell the difference between the 30g pinky keys and the 35g pinky keys using your pinky. I can tell using one of my other fingers but not my pinky. But that 5g difference does make it a little easer to do the aaaaaa ;;;;;; thing on them. My self I just don't rest my pinky fingers on the keys any more so no problem.

The NEO I have is also 30/45/55 as well.
This is incorrect I just ripOmetered the NEO and the pinky keys are 35g not 30g which is strange because the standard 89 is 30g so I guess this board has a few more mods than just the keys. I don't have the box so who knows what the actual spec is supposed to be.

I can definitely feel a difference side by side with my 87u. No doubt in my mind. I have only done ;;;;;;;;; a couple of times on my 87u but do it constantly on the 103u until I have gotten used to it. At first I thought it was the newer 87u needing to break in but after having about equal time on them the difference was still definitely there.

6 nickels would decide this once and for all.
Next visit to the relatives I will try to remember to bring spare change.

The box of my Realforce 87U Black says the weighting is 30/45/55

Yea the box for the 87U is incorrect. The box to me looks exactly like the box for my 86U except for the name change.
