Title: Unicomp Ultra Classic vs plain Classic?
Post by: ciarpame on Tue, 22 November 2016, 12:26:14
I read tons of reviews about Unicomp keyboards and now I'm ready to buy one.

But I need an help to decide, Ultra Classic or just Classic?

I prefer the Ultra Classic model because of the smaller size but since I read everywhere about the not so great build quality, I wonder if choosing the bulky Classic model would in some way be a better choice: maybe more plastic and heavier "IBM original" design compensates for built quality?
Anyone had the chance to compare the two keyboards from the case quality standpoint?

Thank you

I've owned both and I would say that there's not much difference between the two body styles with respect to quality. They both feel nice and stable and provide a great platform for the great buckling spring switches. So perhaps my advice would be to choose based on which looks better to you, since in other ways they are equivalent.
