Title: Atmel Flip programmer & Java

I'm setting up a Win 10 install here & about to install the Atmel Flip programmer. As you all know, the install requires Java. Is there a way to install Java for just this program? I don't want or need Java to reach its tentacles into my computer or my web browsers, I don't need or want Java to run whenever I boot my computer. I just need it for this one program.

How can I restrict Java from everything except Flip?

AFAIK you can't specify the Java directory in FLIP, it will use the one from the environment variable. You could create a bat file to temporarily append the Java path every time you start the FLIP programmer.

If you are only using it to program FLIP, you could give dfu-programmer a go as well.
