Title: [IC] Modern Beige Phase 2 (Poll is live)
Post by: sherryton on Mon, 28 November 2016, 14:35:31: Hello kbdists!

We haven't completed Phase 1 yet, but we are working on getting all of the shipments done. MOD Keyboards really liked the colors we went with, and their machines are read for a second run. We aren't ready yet as we are still concluding the shipping, but we love to take Interest Check on what color combinations you guys would want to see this round.

The cost will run the same:

Group Buy Price: $75
Group Buy Fee: $5

Estimated Group Buy Time:

3.5 months from end of group buy date.

It will include most of the same keys, and we would love to bring some ISO keys this time (although it may not happen).

We want to include 2-3 new secondary legends or legends in general this round as well. We are leaning towards Arabic. Please let us know your thoughts.

One thing that might have been missing was an extra 2.25u shift to support 660 boards, the clueboard and a few other baords. Might be a nice addition to the set.

I'd like a Cyrillic set without Latin legends too but that's probably unlikely, I'm hoping Yuri manages to pull that off as an addon kit once it launches next year but no promises there either.

I bought Classic Blue in the R1 so if you do run R2 again I would love to snatch up a Classic Black set. That said, could you please include the extra keys for 1800 layouts? I think that's one of my major pet peeves from R1 (it would be super cool too if you can include the necessary keys for 18xx support with the 6u spacebar and all 1u bottom row mods!)

Also, just to echo the other guys, novelty pack would be swell too :thumb:

I know it's the Modern Beige IC, but would there be a possibility to use the Dark Grey set to do Cyrillic, Hangul, JP, Arabic, etc.? I understand that colors will be limited, but it would be a nice option.

Yes, I think Centered legends is a possibility. I think we're going to push for the Arabic this round.

New colorways! I haven't finalize all the details, but we're still awaiting a batch of shipment for Blanks and the Russian sets :)

If I'm not completely satisfied with 9009 (if/when I ever get it), Desko is the next classic beige I'd consider getting. That set is masterful.
Really wish imsto would run more of these, though I realize BSP no longer is an option. And that imsto needs to get crackin' on his overdue GBs. :rolleyes:

Let me know if I can assist in anyway. There are a couple of different versions out there, some might have characters that are a little too thick, but there are some slimmer variations as well.

Could you also make sure that the fonts have the same boldness as Imsto? They look much better than Gateron dyesubs.

The keycaps people have already received look great! I regret not joining it.

+1 for greater layout support (1800) and also keys that are typically missing like 1u menu, 1.25 Fn etc.

People are willing to pay extra if it means they're not going to run into missing keys in the future, and it would leave a very positive impression if you were able to be the first to bring that to the community.

I would flip over side printed Hangul/Japanese. Ideally, you could even leave the tops blank. But beggars can't be choosers ;)

Also, +1 to any crazy/different color combos. Love the cyan/purple, etc.

Build all this out with 75% and 1800 support. (I think) you'll sell a ton.

I think it would be a good idea. The market is saturated with PBT sets that only supports standard layouts. I think that's the reason why there have been so many successful GMK group buys over the last year, despite how expensive they are. You know your keyboards will be supported. I wouldn't mind paying GMK prices for a PBT set if it meant GMK support, such as 1800, HHKB, 1u Alt, 1.25u Alt, 1.5u Alt, 1u Fn, 1.25u Fn, 1u Ctrl, 1.25u Ctrl, 1.5u Ctrl, 1u Menu, 1.25u Menu etc.
