Congrats! Thanks for makin' it happen in the UK.
-
Yay, cheers :-D
Is there a good number of them ?
Its just, In the last few weeks I have done far too much money on new kit and some supa sweet deals on more swervers from ebay, so while I sit among loads of boxes (and cook my own dinner ;-) I need to count my pennies and add up that damage done, and explain that there will be yet another box in the post so-to-say. Or see when she's out for the day.
...not ages, just a day or two ??

Thanks itlnstln. It really is a pleasure.
Lenny, no need to worry, we got quite a few and I'm planning on keeping a good level of stock and increasing the range. Cherry Browns are selling fastest (which surprised me).

Yay!! :D Now I need to find some cash...

If you find any, could you let me know where it's at? I could use some, too. Thanks.

Sure.

I'm glad for people in the UK, but unless I'm wrong (very probable),
it's still cheaper for the rest of Europe to have these shipped via
EliteKeyBoards, even with all VAT considerations.
If I'm wrong, and it's not so expensive to buy some Filco keyboards
from Belgium, I'll be glad to be corrected and buy one for myself.
Cheers,

Hi Nicolaq,
Never thought my first posting would be about VAT..
Saw your posting. As I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to numbers and buying from the States. I thought I would look at the figures. I used to work for a US PC Flight Sim joystick company (in the good old days) and was always running into the problem of US imports in to the UK and Europe.
So it was fair I looked at exactly the same model from Elite and The Keyboard Company. The USA layout FKBN104M/EB – NKRollover.
From Elite with shipping to Belgium and using today’s exchange rate from http://www.oanda.com it was €130.87 On to that, if sent on a commercial invoice which Elite should do, the carrier would have to charge VAT at 21% so that takes it up to €158.36. Now I know you might get away without paying the VAT but your posting suggests that you know you have to pay it. Besides, I do know in the past that people have got caught and EU law is now clamping down on carriers to make sure they do the right thing.
Keyboard Company would automatically charge VAT unless I guess you were a company . Using the same web site for the exchange rate it came up to €148.76
So they are €10 cheaper plus in the unlikely event you have a problem, they maybe easier to deal with.
Elite state on their web site - EliteKeyboards products that are shipped outside of the USA and Canada are not covered by this warranty – not sure how they handle International Sales
Keyboard Co don’t seem to have any restriction.
There is an old English expression – You pays yours money, you take your choice.
I know which one I will choose.

:)
I'm really enjoying it so far.

Got mine yesterday, thanks! :-)

According to the Keyboardco shopping card shipping to Belgium should be the same as to Germany, i.e. 14 pound. In the case of a Tenkeyless I compute that Keyboardco is 6 Euros cheaper than importing from Elite (including 20% VAT you'll have to pay in most any case in DE). So the saving isn't that much, but shipping is way faster and it's easier if something should be wrong, as John mentioned. So I much prefer ordering from Bruce when I have the choice.
-
The VAT is calculated with 17.5% on their website in the case of shipping to Germany. This will lead to a price of about £122 for a tenkeyless... is this the right value? Or should VAT be 19%? Thanks for clearing out :)
-
It's 17,5%, you pay exactly what it says right there. It's 19% VAT for non-EU imports only, AFAIK.

Again thanks for your quick answer, lal! I ordered a Tenkeyless Tactile this weekend. Now I can't wait to put it on my desk and my hands over it
-
Have fun with it, Laxer!

Bruce,
Any discounts for Geekhack forum members on orders for UK layout Filco Majestouch's - local UK shipping ?
You have a sub forum on the Geekhack web site to support and promote your products so a forum member discount would be appropriate.
Rgds
