ie: You had a PC at one point and then it died. You then moved to a sofa and let a laptop keep your boys warm. Consequently there is no place to put your mechanical except on the laptop which seems strange.

No roasted crotches? So sad... I suppose laptops have improved since then.

My 2007 MacBook has heated me up way too much back in the day. I now only hook it up to televisions to avoid that heat. It also sucks for almost everything now.

My computers are all too big to fit on my lap.
Except the Mac mini, but that has too many wires hanging off it to make moving it a trivial exercise.
I've tried typing with a keyboard on my lap, but its too uncomfortable.

My '07 MacBook Pro also had my chestnuts roasting many times. I had to put that sucker on a pillow to use it.

I do this all the time with my macbook and HHKB.

I used to be a nut roaster (I still do have about 6 thinkpads) but nowadays if I ever use a laptop it is the HP Stream 11 with 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC soldered directly to the motherboard which I inherited from my GF. She got a MBP and never touched it again. I installed Debian on it, and well, that's that.... plus it's the only laptop I own which doesn't...
- Sound like a jet about to take off (100% passive cooling!)
- Get stupid hot (funny because passive cooling)
- About to turn double digits in how old it is in years
The keyboard is a piece of **** like you would expect from a $200 laptop. But, it's also very flat so you can comfortably rest a decent keyboard on top of it.
