First, there were Zealios.  Now, there are Jspacers.  What's next?  Hall effect capacitive rubber domes?  When will you people stop playing god?

I have never considered Gateron switches as a legitimate alternative to Cherry MX.  Jspacers changes that.  I've always wanted to try jailhouse blue switches but I never wanted to deal with the hassle of actually performing this mod.

You do realize these are just spacers right? you still have to perform the mod on whatever clicky mx switch you want either original or other

And you did see xmit's hall effect boards https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=84525.0 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=84525.0) :D

Oh no, somebody please stop giving me options! I like living in a world where I can only wear black or white!

I've decided that I die for scissor switches.  Unfortunately there are no scissor switch 87 boards on the market.

If I can't get close enough to simulate the mechanism with JHB's I'm throwing in the towel and will try to find a factory in Asia that can produce one or at least the parts to build one.

I'm hoping with the combination of JHB's, low profile Devlin Q-Series caps, O-Rings, and Zealencio's I can come close.

Yes but sliding a spacer over the stem is a lot simpler, quicker, and more uniform than wrapping a wire or a band around the stem.

I ordered some JSpacers, and have some Gateron blue and vintage blue stems to try them out with. Will try and report back with my observations.

Do note that if the spacer is not made of rubber, it will feel quite different from traditional jailhouse mods. I'm not sure what these are made of and I cbf to watch the video. Anyone know?

This looks great! Any chance they'll work on Aristotle stems? The way they are seated are inverted

No they will not work with Aristotles unfortunately.

Damn! I was just about to order a set, even though I don't own any Cherry keyboards.

I would love to have a keyboard with jailhouse greens (and might have one now if Gutz hadn't pillaged the neighborhood) but I don't relish the idea of un-soldering and re-soldering an entire keyboard get it.

I do believe he said he plans to keep a regular stock of these, so keep an eye out for a restock...

here's a secret I have a handful of kits remaining that I still need to sort and those will be on the site tonight. Otherwise I placed another order with manufacturing today and those will arrive in a couple months.

I'm still trying to determine which blue switch to go with.

Input Club had a really good review (https://input.club/tactile-clicky/greetech-blue/) of the Greetech's.  I really wish Aristotle would work as I want maximum tactile bite.

Plenty of space on the bottom of a Topre slider for a magnet, just saying... :))

The Van Keyboards has a few more JSpacers in stock. (https://thevankeyboards.com/products/jspacers-110)

After these sell out it may be a couple months before they get restocked.  Grab them while you can!

They're sold out again.  I just came here to say there was one set left and, in the time it took me to log in, it was sold.  For the price, couldn't pass them up.  I'm going to put some JHBs into a number pad.  If I like them enough to want to put them into a whole keyboard, I'll still have enough spacers left to do it.

Just had 120 Greetech Blues shipped to me from Mechanicalkeyboards.com -- Going to throw jspacers in them for one of my upcoming builds.

btw, jspacers are coming back in stock on 19th of this month it seems. So keep your eyes peeled, ppl whom are interested.

What is the difference between Jailhouse blues and regular mx blues?

Jailhouse blues are a lot more tactile and have a really cool sound. I really like them, but I don't have time to do the mod.

I apologize if I sound like a noob but....

Isn't Jailhouse Blues just MX Blue with locked sliders.  So wouldn't it just be the same (or very close to) as to Ergo Clear?

Sorry don't meant to offend anyone but this is a genuine question.

Actuation point is higher on the Jailhouse Blues, much closer to the top than MX Clears. I used them for mouse buttons on my Clear board because they make double-clicking easier.

Ahhhh gotcha that does sound quite nice actually.

Thanks for the explanation.  :)

I got in on the initial round, they are well worth the wait if you want consistent jailhouse switches. I am generally not a fan of Gateron but for this mod they are the smoothest and most tactile compared to both vintage and modern Cherry MX blues. Can't speak for Gateron greens but the blue springs are a bit heavier than Cherry and a nice enough weight I probably won't swap them out.
