Title: PS2 - USB Conversion Help (G80 11900)
Post by: Arhipio on Fri, 13 January 2017, 19:56:55
Would something like this work? I want to convert the ps2 signal to usb and also make the cable detachable with usb mini b breakout circuit.

I'm aware most ps2 cables will have 6 or so wires inside. This is just a general idea. Here is a link to the active converter I was thinking of gutting (if someone can recommend a cheaper one, since I only need the circuit board itself that would be great :D ) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008ZPED/ref=crt_ewc_title_gw_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Any help would be great :D

Don't see why it wouldn't work. You're not changing anything electronically but instead just eliminating the connectors. Should be no problem.

Yeah, I was just worried about how the converter would work with a breakout circuit but now that I think about it, it should be no different from just a usb plug.
