Title: F62+F77 Model F Keyboard - Square case ?

This looks like an amazing project (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79141.0).

I'm curious about the case design:

I don't think I've seen a square case before -- don't most (all?) keyboards have the bottom row lower, angling up like this?

Nope. Some are flat.

Also, why didn't you ask in the Ellipse thread? Not sure why a new thread was needed (not trying to be crass).
