Title: School me on tastykakes
Post by: dante on Tue, 17 January 2017, 19:00:59
In the Keycon 2017 thread there are some folks very fond of Tastykakes.

What say you?  What's your favorite?  Or are these just a Hostess knock off?

Get out of my pants tp.

hahahaahahhahahahahahahahaha

//First off,///   NO HOMO

Tp4 prefers cream filled pastries.. It has to be some sort of vanilla white cream..  don't like choco cream or lemon meringue..

Ideally, Tp4 likes sweet butter cream.

in the tastykake line,  fav is the - Cream Filled Chocolate cupcake..

Tasty Cake is East Coast Hostess. Pretty much the exact same.

Hostess makes Chocodiles - so they will always win in my book.

I like chocodiles too..

But i feel like the cream cavity center was ,, larger,, when I was a kid.. It feels less substantial now..

They're pretty good. Better than hostess, IMO. They have a different taste, more moist and not so waxy.

Entenmann's is the best though.

IDK of entemann's is comparable, because entemann is not designed the same way.  it's a very short shelf life product. so you get to eat it --when moist--..

tastykake and hostess , that stuff is there for the apocalypse..

No, they will not survive the apocalypse. Yes, they are exponentially better than commercial offerings.

I think I will skip ordering these - especially since I'm on a CHICKEN AND BROCCOLI diet.  I have serious problems with portion control and some of these desserts are too dainty; I end up polishing off the box by time I've had "enough".

I did have junk food in the house growing up, since my dad and I would like to have stuff.  It was Hostess products and Zebra cakes for me, though, somehow missed out on Tastykakes...
