Title: Best way to fix Cherry stabs when the wire disconnects?
Post by: ArchDill on Wed, 18 January 2017, 12:59:55
The wire came out of 1 side on my daily driver. Best way to fix it? just try and place it back using tweezers or is there a better solution? Thanks!

Normally I use some tweezers or a really thin flat head screwdriver. Sometimes it's necessary to desolder a switch or two if it's really out of place, but it's still better than the "guarantee" option which is to desolder every switch.

what?

just pop it back in..

take the cap off, put the wire back into the stabilizer nubs.

Then put the keycap back on to the wire ends,   then back onto the switch.

On a work trip right now. I should be home tonight and can bust out the ifixit kit and fix it, hopefully.
