Title: DYI usb cable does not recognize device
Post by: mniels on Sat, 28 January 2017, 22:24:21
OK, tried this cable out before finalizing the housing, etc.  Worked, but after I sleeved it and tried it again Windows give a message that the device is not recognized.  Loose cable, possibly?

My guess is touching wires inside the connection.  Just remove the shrink wrap and make sure you didn't leave any unstripped sections too long.  I find the top pins like to bend down, which will usually end up in the wires touching.

Sounds like an issue with the data - (pin 2/top pin near +5VDC).  It might be your data +, but more than likely as the previous post said, that top pin shifted or broke its weld.
