Title: Mx HHKB-like or PCB for Cherry MX?
Post by: happylacquer on Sun, 29 January 2017, 04:05:55
I love my HHKB pro but sometimes i like to type on MX. HHKB is  ideal layout to  though.
Nothing  the Poker or whatever... Only really interested in exactly HHKB layout (button spacing does not have to be one to one)

You can buy HHKB plates for 60% PCBs here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=84454.0). Extras will be sold in LeandreN's website. The only difference is with the spacebar which is 7u here instead of 6u.

You can also take a look at the "Santa GH60" boards from China, they're the HHKB version of the common Satan GH60 that you can find on ebay and thereabouts: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=83489.0

What about GH60? Mine is pretty much HHKB layout with a little twist (extra right CTRL and extra left FN). Check out the picture:

BTW it's got PCB mounted 62G Zealios, blank black enjoy PBT caps in cherry profile and just bare standard plastic case.
In fact I like it more than HHKB for traveling, because it's quite a bit lighter and it works just fine with iPad (HHKB doesn't).
Also because it's fully programmable I can switch between Windows/Linux and Mac configurations with a FN + FN + ESC :)
Oh and it has firmware based mouse keys :)

Didn't mean to advertise my hobby company (FalbaTech) but you can get an official GH60 (always latest revision) from us at decent price and not deal with all problems you get from Satan GH60 spinoff.

My only worry was Gateron switches breaking. But if they're legit, i am game to try them out!
