Title: Finding a factory to do aluminum milling for group buys?
Post by: Kominyetska on Mon, 06 February 2017, 17:05:37
How do group buy organizers find the factories to mill the aluminum? Is there a list of factories floating around with contact info so we can reach out and get quotes?

I'm looking to have cases made (20-50) for a new PCB and all the domestic (US) places I reach out to either have high MOQ or ridiculous ($200+) pricing per case at my 20-50 qty.

Anyone have experience getting a custom case milled in a small quantity?

There are a lot of smaller companies around. Unfortunately the only way to get a quote from each of them is to contact each individually.

I would also try to contact someone at your local university - many schools have lots of CNC mills and depending on the school can let locals pay for time on them, like a makerspace.
