Title: Are all cherry, gateron and zeal bottom housings the same?
Post by: snarfarlarkus on Thu, 09 February 2017, 03:35:05
I'm wondering if they are all the same because they feel no different when putting in the same springs, top housing stems into the bottom housings. The leafs do look slightly different though but the feel is the same?

There have been a few revisions of very rminor things of the Gateron/Zeal switches.
For instance, the leaf spring's gold crosspoint has been rotated 90°. Gateron leaf springs did not use to fit inside Cherry MX housings but Cherry MX springs used to fit in Gateron.

Oh, sorry, I had forgotten about this: vintage Aristotle switch (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=81538.0) stems fit inside Gateron housings with clear tops.
They do not fit inside Cherry MX housings or in regular Gateron housings.
