Title: Drain Grease ? [Sloppy Joe Discussion]
Post by: tp4tissue on Fri, 24 February 2017, 10:41:28
Tp4 has always made ,  The Full-Phat,  Sloppy Joes..

've never drained the oil,  even using the 20% fat ground beef..

The oil is what gives it a smooth rolling texture..

Why would they recommend you drain the grease..

If I am using 85/15 I don't,  but I will with 80/20.

Side note, don't use 73/27 for burgers on a charcoal grill.  It doesn't flare, but puts the charcoal out.

with 80/20,  it's only 90 grams of fat per 1 pound of Beef..   810 calories..

with 85/15,  it's 63 grams of fat per ..  567 calories..

All falls neatly within daily acceptable fat intake, assuming one doesn't eat more than a pound of SJ a day.. hahahaha
